Done with Nursing School!!!

Well, here it is (sorry about the glare).
It came faster than I thought, you know, the end of nursing school for now. The last 9 weeks were surprisingly the easiest,
probably b/c the teachers are cooler,
and they leave you alone for the most
part. The ribbon is what they pin you with at the  ceremony and those pins on it are my dad's from when he graduated from LBCC before CSULB. That grad night was surreal, it still has not sunk in yet. Thanks Joyce and Dad for this beautiful frame. Hopefully the diploma will come soon.

This is my friend Kristina, we both work nights at memorial, she has been such a great friend through the last year of school. We thought it was so cute how the two redheads got to walk together and my family was obviously right there.

My Brother was cracking himself up. And above is my friend Luis, We have fought this battle since january of 2008. We failed at different quarters but made it to the end. He has been a great support.

Lake Cachuma

I was inspired tonight to post while drinking Presido Wine that we had wine tasted on our trip to Lake Cahuma. It was amazing camping with John, Jeremy and Keri , except for the skunk that killed my buzz.
So we arrived on friday night, had fun setting up camp and waiting for chase, cole and debi to show up. Got up the next morning and went on a nature walk, something we have never done up there. It was pretty cool , but the kids couldn't hang that long, anyone with a short attention span could not hang, the ranger was very detailed and serious. Then we took the kids fishing down from the camp site.

Bat House set up all over the place

Ginger Woodpecker

John using his new axe, being a man

Uncle Johnny and chase

We did alot of this.
The next day we rented a boat for the day, with perfect weather and Jeremy (I say) caught the biggest fish of any of our camping trips, too bad I didn't get a picture......It got away....just take my word for it..it was huge!

Then ,on monday we went wine tasting. It was soo much fun and trying danish food in Solvang

Abelskivers!! (they only danish food I could eat)

A break from wine tasting

We found this very sheik restaurant in Solvang, dinner plates around $20-$30, but we were feelin' the wine and did not feel like going back to the campsite to have hotdogs....do you blame us?

So...on our way home we stopped for mexican food at our traditional spot. It had a different vibe this time. I think it had something to do with the pot clinic upstairs.

The End

Today was Awesome!!

Today, Rob, John and I went to Pasadena to check out the worlds first permanent disc golf course. It was pretty cool but a little neglected. Without a map, at times, was difficult to tell where the next hole was. I shot an 18 (clap for me) which is the second best score for me this year. Going out to pasadena makes me want to explore it more....and maybe I will. After, we went to find some good mexican food. We found this hole in the wall in old pasadena area, it was pretty tasty.

Rob shot a few from the bushes and made them.

John needed a ponytee while driving home in the heat.  Cute!!!!

Yo ho Yo ho

Does this entice you to want to look at the rest of this blog?

John and I took Willem Falls out the other night. It was a beautiful afternoon with a good sunset

Sunset Gondola's 3 yr. anniversary

We all met at Sunset Gondola to enjoy our three favorite things: gondolas, wine and friends

Jeremy playing up-right guitar

This was when everyone was having a great time.......soon after, Almquist was engaged in a scuffle in the bar. We were all watching jeremy play piano with this other guy on guitar and then all of a sudden, Mike looks like he is going to throw or take a punch.  We all decided we would take Mike outside soon after people started to calm down a bit and leave before it got worse.

Greg looks suspicious

Capt. Jacks Bar

Some things never change, but he does make it interesting.

Michigan Trip Part Deux

Niagra Falls at night, it kind of looks like vegas.

Whirlpool about a mile down the falls

A tour boat into the whirlpool and the cables to another touristy thing to do called the spanish aerocar. I takes you just to the other side, but we didn't think it was worth it since it was so far from the Falls.

The bridge to Buffalo, NY. Crossing through our border system is so strange. You feel so guilty....I kind of was guilty...I lied when they asked if I had a lighter.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. This was the only picture because you were not allowed to photograph inside. This was the day after Michael Jackson died, there were TV people there and memorials inside.  All of the displays are in the basement. Of Michael Jackson's pieces, they had the glove, the thriller jacket and werewolf mask, some grammy's and other outfits.  It was really cool to be standing right in front of it.  Another cool thing on display was a built to spill flyer from around 1993. It was displayed with things that belonged to Nirvana, soundgarden, mudhoney. etc.............

A tribute to the cool bridges in downtown Cleveland
